Since I live in the SF Bay Area, I was debating between Stanford and UCSF myself, and ended up with Stanford because it is a little closer to my home, and they could see me a bit sooner. I did not know healthcare could be this compassionate and competent. I've seen two other docs there, had numerous tests/biopsies/etc - and along the way, every physician, nurse, technician, etc has been remarkable. My surgeon was excellent, and while in the hospital, whatever I wanted that I thought might make life a little easier, they seemed to bend the earth to make happen if they could. I had emergency surgery - and the most positive experience imaginable. I hope you've had a good experience with Stanford - it has been 2 months since your post, and the same time I've been on my own cancer journey at Stanford.
